Graeme Steart is an experienced and highly respected solicitor with an extensive and successful legal career spanning more than 45 years. With a strong academic foundation from Monash University, where he earned a Bachelor of Jurisprudence in 1976 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1978, Graeme was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in Victoria in 1980. His qualifications also include being admitted as a Solicitor in New South Wales in 1990 and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia since 1988.
Graeme’s career has taken him through a diverse range of legal roles, including significant positions within the Commonwealth Crown Solicitor (now the AGS) and the Commonwealth DPP, where he was involved in high-level criminal prosecutions and complex civil litigation. He earlier played a key role in the Special Prosecutor's Office, leading teams focused on criminal asset recovery and civil remedies. Throughout his career, Graeme has built a reputation for handling intricate legal challenges and providing expertise in a variety of fields.
After returning to private practice Graeme acquired F.W. Robson & Co. in 1988, where he has built a successful practice and since 1992 has worked as a sole practitioner, focusing on a broad range of legal matters, including criminal law, commercial law, corporations, contract law, wills and estates, probate, family law and litigation (both general & commercial). Graeme’s extensive experience in these areas, along with his hands-on approach to every case, has earned him the trust of his clients.
Graeme is a dedicated professional who has developed a strong reputation for his legal knowledge, thoroughness and work ethic & his clients appreciate his approachable manner and his ability to navigate complex legal challenges. Outside of law, Graeme is a family man, married to Lisa for 46 years and a father to four children. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, sport and spending time with his family.
